Yosemite National Park Four Mile Trail in 2018
I visited Yosemite National Park in May of 2018, on Memorial Day weekend, and decided to hike the Four Mile Trail, which promised panoramic views of Half Dome. On arrival, I quickly realized parking was going to be an issue. After circling for over an hour in search of convenient parking, I ended up leaving the car half a mile away from the trailhead.
The trail provided some of the most spectacular views I've ever seen!
What I wasn't well prepared for was the summer heat, which led to dehydration and being covered in sweat, combined with sudden gusts of chilly winds. The water I had with me was quickly consumed. Fortunately, at Glacier Point at the end of the trail, there is a visitor center with snacks, drinks, and restrooms, where hikers can replenish their supplies.
